330ml bottle from Vinmonopolet Tromsø Langnes, shared with Finn Arvid. Jet black body under a huge, tight, fawn-coloured head, fine retention and spotty lacing. Dark caramel and coffee on the nose, heavy roasted. Burnt dark malty taste, caramel, coffee and even a drop of liquorice. Roasted bitter ending, mid-dry. Medium bodied.

Behagelig karbonert.

Bottle, at Nærbø Ølfestival 2013. A clear one, dark brown in color and with a small dark beige head. Some lacings. The aroma is roasted, almost burnt, with hints of nuts and some caramel. The flavor has some bitterness to deal with the roasted malts, caramel and nuts. Dry on the palate with a nice carbonation level. Lasting finish with bitterness and a roasted malty touch. A tasteful one, but it probably needs some appropriate food. 131019

330 ml bottle, from the brewery. ABV is 5.5%. Very dark brown opaque colour, nearly black. Moderate beige head. Nice malty (but not sweetish) aroma, notes of lightly roasted malts and some caramel, burnt breadcrumbs. Medium dry flavour, lightly roasted malts and burnt breadcrumbs again. Not bad.

Medium beige head. Clear still deep dark brown body. Roasty earthy dusty aroma with rye crisp bread notes. Dry-sweet roaty earthy caramel taste with rye crisp bread notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft mouthfeel. Dryish roasty wooden earthy aftertaste with spicy rye crisp bread and fruit notes. Lingering dusty roasted grain notes. Lovely! A very good brown ale with real depth and clarity of flavour. (0.33l bottle, wine monopoly web order.)
