Bottle. Jet black, big, frothy mocha head. Aroma is the usual suspects. Big roast, soy, charred coffee, light cocoa powder, earthy barrel, pretty straight forward really. Mouth feel is silky, carb is soft. Finish is medium bitter, subtle sweetness, with a very strong espresso finish. Good, not great.

Solo cup showing pitch black with a finger of latte colored foam.

The nose shows intense sweet notes of caramel and mocha.

The palate is light bodied and moderately carbonated. Mildly sweet with moderate flavors of mocha with a light bourbon background.

Bottle vintage 2013, backlog April 2014. Clear dark amber, almost black body under a small, dense beige head. Pleasant aroma of dark malt, coffee and a nice touch of Bourbon. Taste is sweet with lots of good expresso coffee, smooth dark malt, balanced bitterness, chocolate, dry fruit and warming alcohol. Full bodied with a long lasting, sweet aftertaste ending with a fine combination of coffee and vinous alcohol. Fantastic smooth.

Bottle from de bierliefhebber online. Sparkly purple wax (rather than lavender, as the 50/50 website suggests). JC handwritten with golden marker. Pours a black colour and a light brown head with some retention. Aroma's of ground coffee, roast, berries, dark fudge. Retronasal there's ground coffee, (sour) berries, some sweetness. Flavour is light moderate sweet, moderate roasty bitter. Smooth mouthfeel, almost full bodied. Long finish, roasted and moderate bitter. Great stuff as (almost) always.
