Bottled. Black colour with a mediumsized off-white head. Aroma is chocolate, grainy, rye and some slight tart wooden tones. Flavour is chocolate, malts, roasted, some dried fruits and mild tart wood and some strange stinging sweetness, which worsens up when the beer gets warmer. Probably some kind of infection.

Bottle thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - opaque black with a nice off white lacy head. Nose - chocolate for sure. Orange very faint. Smoke and roast. Taste - very dark chocolate. Orange liqueur. Still some roast going on. Palate - medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry crunchy finish. Overall - what I like about Hardknott is that they us a broad range of malts.

330ml bottle from the Brewery Online Shop. Pours dark brown with a thin beige head. Aromas of chocolate and orange, as expected. Light toast. Taste is more chocolate heavy, orange is fainter. Nice clean finish.
