Propitiation was born from one of the six components of the Toronado 25th Anniversary beer. It was aged in used wine barrels for 12 months before being removed and carbonated. The beer is dry and light in body but full of rich chocolate and coffee notes with a mild sour/tart finish.

Pours dark brown with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, chocolate, oak, tart and hint of caramel. Taste is light to medium sweet and medium sour with a long tart, sour and chocolate finish. Body is medium, texture is thin, carbonation is soft.

On tap at the brewpub. It pours a hazy dark brown to black body and a small, dense, light beige head. Lightly vinegar-ish aroma with lots of dried fruits. Some notes of chocolate and coffee. It’s full bodied and quite tart, pleasantly carbonated. Dried fruits, figs and prunes, roasted notes and a tart lemony touch. Lasting finish. Well worth a revisit this one. 130807
