Our most requested re-brew, we finally got around to it! Treacle cured, salty and sweet smoked bacon with freshly brewed coffee. A fiendishly good breakfast. Now available in beer form. This Imperial breakfast stout uses masses of oats, a little smoked malt for subtle smoky notes and copious amounts of oozy treacle to balance the roasted, bitter coffee bean and fresh coffee additions. A touch of Gros Sel Guerande natural sea salt added to the beer acts to intensify the rich flavours.

Bottle from Appellation Wines. Appearance - opaque black with a lovely lovely fawn head. Nose - coffee again, just make it a stout. Taste - tonnesmore coffee and alcohol. Chocolate. Palate - medium bodied with a creamy texture and a fairly good finish. Overall - ok but too much coffee.

Bottle from Bridgend Service Station. Black body with a medium tan head. Good lacing. Aroma of smoked ham, maple syrup, treacle and melted dark chocolate. Flavour of coffee, more treacle, burnt wood and meaty malts. Medium body with a creamy mouthfeel. Weak fizz. This doesn’t quite hit the mark for me - it’s thinner than I was hoping for and I feel that the flavours don’t quite gel. I’d probably prefer it without the addition of smoked malt.
