Standing firmly on the east coast end of American IPAs, our India Pale Ale emphasizes balance. An insistent malt character from traditional floor-malted English barley harmonizes with a generous amount of Chinook and Amarillo hops. Fruity and aromatic, our IPA is perfectly balanced.

Dingy dark amber color with small foamy head. Nice aroma of fruity and floral hops with malt. Different hops than most IPA’s in that flavors from hops have a definite fruit undertone. A little mild in terms of flavors coming together, but has a really interesting silky mouthfeel.

on tap-Good hops with balanced taste, a bit of sweetness. 3.6 12 oz bottle-pours a light tan, rich, not too thick head. Color is slightly hazy to start, then a clear copper/orange. Aroma is hops. Taste is hops, malty, creamy. Good carbonation. 3.7

Bottled. Hazy orange colour. Grapefruit aroma. Firmly malty with nutty Sam Smith character, but much oppier. Butterscotchy yeast character. Resiny, very bitter finish.

Pretty peach-colored with a large frothy head. Aroma is undoubtedly grapefruit & other citrusy hops. Flavos is slightly sweet hoppiness- nice... very nice actually- not overwhelming, not trying to outdo anyone, but instead, offering up a nice, almost simple (yet extremely tasty) IPA. At 8% ABV, this son-of-a-bitch hides its alcohol almost too well.

GABF 2004:
I picked this one as my 6oz fil. Very nice in all respects. I didn’t know it was a solid 8%abv...If it was available locally to me, I’d stock up for sure.
Best regards,
Bill

Slightly hazy amber coloured body with a foamy off-white head. Aroma of mint, floral hops, pine, malt and a small amount of sugars. Medium-bodied; Light-flavour, some hops, mainly floral with some offensive pineyness. Aftertate hoppy, but shows some malt. Overall, VERY nice to try, a decent IPA...not great though! Many thanks to Phil for bringing this twelve ounce bottle up for me to try!

Thanks to dberger624 for sending me this. Blurry amber color with a thin off-white head. Very thin lacing. Mostly hops aroma with some malt. Flavor consists of hops, citrus and some malt. Actually there was more malt in the flavor than in any IPA in recent memory. It didn't hurt the flavor at all though, and actually made the finish more subdued than in most IPAs. The jury is out as to whether that makes it more complex or more boring. Maybe both. Either way this was decent.

This weighs in at a whopping 8% ABV, but you'd never guess my tasting it. It has the intense hop bitterness (this is highly hopped) of a good IPA, but no high alcohol taste at all. These guys know how to make beer and this is as good an example from Yards as any. Intensely floral and somewhat fruity aroma.
