On tap at APEX. Damn good IIPA. Pours a rich copper color with a medium white head. A big sweet pine and resiny citrus nose. The flavor is all citrus and fruity hops with some deep fruit essence resin, a bit of pine, dusty, light biscuit. Really good. Powerful IIPA.

From a growler brought back from the Bend brewery. Hazy deep orange amber with a short lived sandy head. Tons of citrus hop aroma and flavor. Mostly grapefruit and tangerine. Plenty bitter and also lots of body. Definately a Double and very tasty. Surprised to see the ABV at nearly 9

Draft at NWIPA in Portland, OR on 2 June 2013. Pours an golden amber colour with a thick white head. Strong floral and citrus hop aroma. Grapefruit and resin hops grab the tastebuds, but are offset by the sweet malts and warming alcohol.

On draught at Yard House Seattle. The beer pours a clear amber-orange color with a medium bone white head that diminishes slowly. Rings of lacing on the glass. The aroma is citrusy with notes of toasted malt and florals. Full, chewy body with flavors of grassy hops, grapefruit and grainy malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a lingering fruity hops aftertaste. Solid all around.

Beautiful citrus/hop aroma. Hazy sunset orange with full, large bubbled white head. Taste of citrus, grapefruit and fresh meadow. Bitterness pronounced but well balanced by the malt. Juicy finish.

Tap at Produce Row Cafe, Portland 07/11/12 (Thank’s to Jessie for tracking this fantastic beer down for me !). Had first sip LBOW ! Bitter hop assualt !!! Lightly hazed amber with a thin white head which retains well. Good lacing follows. Nose is a big fuck off pine smash to the nostrils, hops, bitter grapefruit, light mango. Tastes of bitter grapefruit, pine forward, hops, a dirty great pine kick in the teeth, light mineral tones. Surprisingly medium in body for double figures ABV with soft carbonatoin leading to a bitter finish. Excellent DIPA, doesn’t come much better. Would like to try this side by side with Pliny, reckon Pliny may drop a point or two and hop Venom may well rise to the top!

Draft - Sweet piney/citrus nose with a cloudy straw hue. Thick persistent head. Refreshing and light with lots fruit notes, sweet throughout. Not what I would call or expect from a double IPA. In this class there are much better.

On tap at Parkway Tavern, pours a hazy golden with a small off-white head. Aroma of resinous hops and loads of caramel malt. Flavour of rich herbal and resinous hops, backed with a big caramel malt backbone. Full-bodied and hopilicious. Extremely well-crafted double IPA.

Draught. Not very hoppy. Orange pour with thin head, little lacing. Light fruity aroma. Not hoppy and full bodied like you’d expect but more thin. Some fruit in the flavour and finish.
