On tap at the Brewdog Camden. Surprised to find I have not had this before! Opaque dark brown beer, small pale tan head. Light semi dry palate. Rich malts with good dried fruits and hop bitterness. Marmalade and cream and toffee malts. Lots of nice things! Softish finish. Comes over as a darker barleywine and is quite lovely!

Abstrakt 01 - 25 Vertical @ Brewdog Sheps Bush. Almost clear deep amber - brown beer, short lived bubbly pale tan head. Palate is pretty light and has fairly modest fine carbonation. Thin dark malts, smooth, mild chocolate. Little oxidised woody caramel. Tangy fruits. Little piney hop still hanging about after 7 years. Light finish. Still pretty drinkable. 3.4

On tap at Delirium Hoppy Loft. Pours up deep dark mahogany with lasting mocha head. The aroma is big and pine hoppy and quickly runs into resiny grassy notes with some chewy hop as well as malt sweetness in the background. The taste is big and bold with a pleasing mix of near dark roasted malts and pine hop bitterness as well as a lesser amount of grapefruit like citrus hoppiness. It grows quickly into resiny bitterness but kept in check by the mild yet thick maltiness. Down right yummy stuff here as the atmosphere and the beer coalesce leaving me only wanting more.

Smell of herbs and mint. Very dark brown. Taste of herbs, hops, malt and spices. Also some citrus.

(Draught at Bishopβs Arms Folkungagatan, Stockholm) Black colour with brief, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with liquorice, black coffee, pine needles and ink. Malty, roasted taste with notes of black coffee, ashes, liquorice, pine needles and a generous piney bitterness in the finish. Full body, slightly oily mouthfeel. Balanced sweetness (for its strength). Quite powerful, but fairly well balanced. Excellent beer.

Bottle from Beer Ritz, Leeds. Poured a dark reddy brown colour with a small lingering tan head. Super enticing nose with resinous hop, chocolate and berry fruit notes aplenty. ABV barely noticable slipping down and a decent fullish body. Superb assertive hoppage in the flavour in tandem with some sweet malt and further chocolate notes Big bitter finish. First bloody class.

Bottle. Mahogony beer with a tan head. Malt and light fruity aroma. Raisin and malt flavor with earth, light citrus, and toffee. Medium bodied. Toffeee and raisin lingers with light citrus. Nice and refined.

375 ml bottle @ Patricks. Perfectly dark, dark brown body with a big, creamy tan head. Strong aroma of dark malt, citric fruity hops and warming alcohol in a Belgium type of strong beer. Flavor is sweet and smooth malt, caramel, dry fruit, citric fruit, bitter and slightly roasted with warming alcohol. Full body and nice aftertaste. Very tasty, pleasant and well balanced.

draft@Delirium Hoppy Loft: pours pitch black with a beige head, smell is very hoppy (incl. pine) mixed with slightly roasted malts & hints of bitter chocolates but first most are the hops, taste is very, very bitter with dark, slightly roasted malts, bitter chocolate, there is some bitter spices in here as well as a slight herbal element, hops come bang strongly in the finish which also has slight alcohol (in a nice way), serious stuff, nice

Keg at Port Street Beer House, 14th September 2011. 3rd of a pint, enough at this ABV, not much of an aroma, great taste though and the alcohol is well hidden

Lovely well defined pine and chocolate brownies, slightly soapy. Mouth is malt accented, with hops definetly present. The chocolate brownies are still. Pine nuts. Fairly bitter finish. Full body but the 12.5% alcohol is quit well hidden. Well balanced. Enjoyable. I think it would have done a bit better at 10%.
