Taste is mild and slightly sweet roasted, dark sugar, dark malts, salty licorice syrup, bark, licorice powder, oak, alcohol, cough syrup, fruit stones, minerals, cocoa, coffee, tar, raisins. 2017 bottle. Pours a rich brown black from a bottle, caramel colored head. Rich aroma begins with black licorice, moves to some cola, tobacco and a bit of leather. Flavor adds in coca nibs. Not too sweet not too dry. Very good beer.

650 ml bottle, vintage 2010. Shared by Sander, many thanks!
Black body, with a beautiful, dense, creamy, coffee-colored head.
Aroma of soy sauce, dark chocolate, cocoa powder, liquorice, some coffee, some dark fruits, slight wood.
Tastes pretty similar.
Medium, oily mouthfeel, with a low carbonation.
Finishes roasty, a bit dry, with soy sauce, cocoa powder, dark chocolate, some tobacco, some liquorice.

Very tasty! Tastes more like a RIS than a barrel aged Stout, the barrel is very subtle and just adds to the balance. Lots of character, with quite a lot of soy sauce notes, that I like a lot here. Lovely, old-school, robust Imperial Stout how I love it.
