Bottle from Morrisons
Appearance Copper, clear, frothy slightly off white head that dissipates to thin layer. Not much lacing.
Aroma Caramel and slightly nutty malts...bit fruity...spicy hop...alcohol noticeable...slighty metallic.
Taste Caramel malt..hint of roasted malt..fruity..toffee...bit of yeast.....spicy earthy hop...quite a rich flavour
Palate Soft carb, medium body, rather oily texture. Finish fruity malt then a lingering earthy bitter finish, bit metallic.
Overall The alcohol is rather noticeable here for a beer of 5.6%, and its rather oily. The finish has a rather bitter with a metallic mineral note at the end which let it down. It’s probably better cask.

Bottle from a London shop. Pours bright copper with a temporary creamy white head. Aroma is primarily fruit, though there’s a caramel undertone. Flavor starts caramel, but a very strong bitter comes forth. Something fruity, something earthy, something malty. Adds up to a bitter finish.

Flaske 0,5l fra Waitrose Bloomsbury. Gyldenbrun / mørk aprikos på farge. Høyt kremskum som fester seg – og varer. Forsiktig aroma med litt søt malt. Smaken er karamell & litt frukt. Litt vassen. Avslutter svakt bitter & fruktig.

From a 500ml bottle on 1/9/2010. Has a mild but slightly strange aroma, with a bit malt and toast. In the mouth, there is good dose of malt, some sweet caramel and a touch of tangy fruitiness. Finishes with a moderate and fairly long hop kick. A decent beer but not standout, and a bit over-rated on here.

Hazy, dark amber colour. Very aromatic scent with some toasty malt. Sweet notes of raisins and a dry hop finish make it a great session beer.
