ABV: 4.4% IBU: 30 Ticks: 17
It is proper lager with an ABV of 4.4 %, which makes it substantially different from Radler style beers. Owing to the 13 % content of wild cherry juice, the lager is black and velvet red with a firm froth that leaves circles on the glass. The stone of wild cherry and roasted malt of dark lager can be distinguished in the aroma. Directly after a sip, the flavour is pungently sour with an almond aroma of stones, yet quickly turning into a slightly astringent flavour of wild cherry and a bitter flavour of roasted malt, which leaves a bitterness of dark chocolate in the mouth, resulting in an urge to keep drinking in small sips.

Keg at the Guildford arms. Pours deep brown with a lumpy overflowing head, nose is sugary cherry, taste is sweet, sugary, cherry, a little too artificial and sweet.

Tap at Brutal Assault. Dark brown colour. Moderately stable head. Quite new concept since most radlers are dark here. Dark caramel and light coffeeish aroma and flavour. Restrained cherry flavouring, not overwhelming. However the cherry does not work 100% well with the toffeeish caramel and milky roast IMO. Still above average radler.

Keg at the Lord Clifden, Jewellery Quarter, Birmingham. Magenta with a cream/khaki head. Black forest gateau aroma. A dessert I once had in Moravia... Taste combines the bittersweetness of the lager with the tartness of fresh cherries. A hint of chocolate on the way down. Nice.

Keg at the Lord Clifden; deep purple pour with a frothy off white head, big cherry aroma, taste has sweet dark cherries, a hint of dark chocolate, quite a pleasant fruit beer.
