Small, fast disappearing head. Light brown color. Smell and taste are decent but I detect some spices or herbs and I don’t like it. Also low body, bit watery. Expected something better.

6th February 2011
On tap at the ’ t Arendsnest, Amsterdam. Cloudy brown beer, light suddy tean head. Light frothy palate, slightly dry. A little caramel malt, also dry. Tiny bit of fruit underneath. Minerally semi dry finish. Decent and fresh but could do with more complexity.

33 cl bottle from De Bierkoning. Brown color, quickly receding head. Aroma’s of sweet malt, aromatic hops, herbal, somewhat roasted. Flavor is roasted, slightly sweet. Rather thin mouthfeel. Dry, not too harsh bitter finish. Good enough, but since this is the watered down version of IJsbeer, I’m curious how that one is.
