The thing about First Frontier is the hops. Easy… This is an IPA “the American way”, no sticky-sweet malt profile, just the real deal potent and aromatic hops. The result is a refreshingly dry, fresh and bitter IPA, heavily dryhopped with the three American hop varieties warrior, simcoe and centennial, dealing a punch of citrus, peach and grapefruit from the deepest of our hearts directly to ya face. Just added a bit of caramel malt; merely to harness and balance the alcohol.

Resultatet er en dejlig tør, frisk og bitter IPA, der er hårdt tørhumlet med de tre amerikanske humlesorter Warrior, Simcoe og Centennial, som giver noter af citrus, fersken og grapefrugt. Tilføjet er en smule karamel malt, der blot er tilstede for at tøjle og afbalancere alkoholen, der befinder sig på 7,1%.

4cl sample at Mikkeller Bangkok beer week. Very thin white head. Very hazy amber pour. very nice bitterness. A lovely brew

Poured into a small taster glass showing a deep dark hazy amber with a very light foamy white head. The nose shows extremely subtle sweet round malts with very little hop influence. There’s actually very little aroma and somewhat too underplayed. The palate is highly carbonated and full bodied. The malts support most of the bitterness of the hops. Poured fresh the hops are refreshing and somewhat citric and pine-like. The finish shows off the typical sharp bitterness you’d expect from an American Pale. Overall, an average to slightly above pale ale.

cloudy dark golden to orange colour, huge, dense yellowish off-white head; aroma of orange, tropical fruits, peach and some resiny notes; taste is the same with some bready-caramel malts; very good IPA

Bottle, 330 ml from Za Popent, Ljubljana. Pours orange with white head. Sweetish with lots of tropical fruit hoppiness, light caramel and pine. Medum to full bodied. Dry and bitter finish. Great one.

330ml bottle at the Hoppy Pub, Thessaloniki. Almost clear pale golden color with white head. Hoppy aroma, floral, fruity, light pine, light malty. Sweet and bitter taste, fruity, caramel malty. Medium oily body with soft carbonation and bitter finish.

Bottle at The Bottle Shop Canterbury. Hazy pale gold thick lasting white head. Hops on aroma. Some almost lager malt puke in the mouth. Big sherberty hop finish. Good carbonation dry long finish. Settles down into a sherbert hoppy ipa. Good though.

Bottle, 7.1%. Pours cloudy amber with a persistent creamy medium off-white to pale yellow head, lots of lacing. Aroma is medium hoppy, pine resin, earthy, grassy. Taste is medium bitter, dry, slightly astringent. Medium bitter finish. I expected more in aroma from a To Øl, this one isn’t more hoppy than the lager Raid Beer for instance, though a bit more bitter.

Bottle share with Desverger. Cloudy amber pour with a white head. Nice nose of summer fruits and herb. Dried fruit and citrus in the taste. Quite a tasty number.

Bottle. Nice cloudy orange-red color with lace. Big stewed stone fruit and tropical fruit nose, juicy biscuits, some caramel. Flavor is dryer, with tropical fruits and nice bitterness. Big flavors, rather light, though, and smooth.
