Resurrection Series. This is a pale, aged ale with a dense white head, mango fruit aromas, malty flavour, followed by an alcoholic warmth and intense spicy, herbal hoppiness (100IBU). William Black’s brewery, founded in 1768 at the site of Gilcomston Mill, produced and exported table-beer, strong ale and porter. It later became Gilcomston Brewery, Devanha Brewery, closing in the 1930s under Usher.

Bottle from The Beerhive. Hazy golden body with a thin white head. Steady carbonation. Light lacing. Aroma of marmalade, orange peel and tea. Flavour of honey, orange and herbs. Big bitterness. Medium body with an oily texture. Soft fizz. Sweet and boozy but balanced by the bitter hops. Challenging but tasty.
