Very dark brown with dense head. Flavours of dark malts and vanilla at first. Then a fresh bitterness. Sweet aftertaste.

Keg at the hanging bat. Pours dark brown with a thin tan head. Aromas of vanilla, lemon, toffee. Taste is more of the same. Decent custard vibe. Less so with the porterness. Sweet finish.

Keg at The Post Office Vaults, Birmingham, Monday 4th January 2016. Pours black, solid black with a creamy tan head. The vanilla is noticeable but there is a clear roasty thrust to this throughout. Perhaps not as exciting as the name might suggest, but it is a good beer nonetheless. A7 A4 T7 P4 Ov14 3.6

Bottle. The one with the spelling mistake! Tall Boys, Leeds. Cloudy, dark cola brown. Film and some bubbles of grey tinged, tan head. Curious aroma. Fruity, and slightly vinous. Slightly ashy. The Sorachi definitely gives a custard vibe. Or maybe it’s the vanilla addition. Anyhow, it’s a little odd. Taste is fairly sweet, turning equally bitter, with little in between. Oily palate. Finishes oily bitter. Interesting, but doesn’t really work for me.

Keg at Tilt Brum; dark chestnut brown pour with a creamy light tan head, aroma has sweet chocolate and some dark fruits, taste has sweet boozy action along with sweet cream, condensed milk, dark fruits, hint of vanilla.
