Tushkar has a smooth and sweet mouthfeel from the finest Scottish oats, chocolate and coffee top notes from the chocolate malt, mild bitterness from the Mittlefruh hops and a balancing roundness from the respectable 5.5% ABV. The depth and complexity of flavour are delivered without heaviness, so they complement a relatively low carbonation level. Named after Shetland’s traditional peat-cutting tool, Tushkar will bring you the warmth of a good peat fire on a winter’s day.

330ml bottle. Pours black with a thin tan head that quickly disappeared. Faint aroma of sweet, dark chocolate. Watery, with coffee and dark chocolate to taste. Not terrible, but not great either

330ml bottle from Aldi. Pours opaque dark brown, short-lived tan head. Aromas of black coffee and light chocolate notes. Taste is more coffee, light metallic notes, sweet dark fruit. Bitter chocolate finish. Not bad.
