Keg @ Highlander Inn, Craigellachie 120512
Golden amber, slight haze, frothy white head, reasonable lacing
Aroma - resinous hops, quite thick resinous, piney, sweet golden caramel, hops cramped by sweet malts, aroma not fantastic to be honest
Taste - heavy golden caramel malts, heavy honey, thick resinous hops, piney, bit of citrus grapefruit, orange juice, unbalanced, alcohol pretty noticeable for 5.7%
Palate - medium body. soft carb, texture oily and viscous, sweet gloopy malts. Finish as main flavour, quite dry, slight bitter metallic tail, gloopy residue in mouth.
Overall - too much sweet malts, perhaps needs more hops. Itβs rather unbalanced and gets rather cloying.
