6 Vintage Blend represents the evolution of brewing at Sharp’s Five beers of diverse styles and vintages, aged in the brewery cellars, are carefully blended with a new base beer to create something truly unique. 6 Vintage Blend is a big, rich complex beer. The aroma is a mix of dark, stewed fruits and herbal hop notes. In the mouth an ample sweetness is balanced by an acidity and smokiness from the aged beers creating the perfect trinity of bitter, sweet and sour. The finish is a long and rich but never cloying.

Bottle from Cotswold Vintners, Chipping Sodbury. Amber with plenty of carbonation, but no head. Sweet, redcurrant and tangerine aroma, with some caramel and a touch of leafy hop. Flavour was also sweet, with a touch of toasty malt and warming finish. Fine.

Bottle at Craig’s. Pours clear dark amber, no head. Aromas of fruitcake, sherry, dark sugar, something like pipe tobacco. Taste is sweet, spicy. Finishes too sweet for me, but an interesting beer..

Bottle @ EBBC14, Dublin [270614]
Dark amber, clear, thin white head
Aroma - Fruity sweet malts, raisin, soft sherry, complex fruity malts, soft spicy, bit unusual
Taste as aroma, soft sherry notes, rich sweet fruity complex malts, raisins, slight hint of cinnamon, alcohol well hidden
Palate - soft carb, medium body, sweet palate. Finish was smooth, rich sweet fruity malts
Overall - Some complex fruity malts in this...only had a bit at the end of the bottle. Would like to re-rate this with a full bottle.

Cask at CBR 2014. It pours golden amber with no head whatsoever. The nose is wood, hot cross bun, oil, honey, raisin, sultana, brown sugar and a touch of must. The taste is oily, wood, leather, earth, sultanana, raisin, fruit cake, candied peel and plum. Medium body, low carbonation and oily mouth-feel. Lacks a bit of condition unfortunately. Drinks pretty well for the abv anyhow. Solid.
