(Draught at Arendsnest, Amsterdam, 24 Feb 2017) Hazy golden colour with dense, white head. Fruity, sourish nose with notes of bread, lemon peel and grapefruit. Fruity, tart taste with lemon, grapefruit, bread, grass and a gentle citric bitterness. Medium body, dry. Fresh and tasty. Quite enjoyable.

Modern craft interpretation of Berliner Weisse, thanks Craftmember for sharing. Thinnish, egg-white, irregular, quickly breaking head over a misty straw blonde beer with ochre-ish hue. Aroma of moldy lemon peel, buttermilk, unripe starfruit, fresh cucumber, raw rhubarb, sourdough, old peaches, urine-like dank hops, sweat, pickled gherkins, gooseberries. Crisp onset, lively and sour from the start, lemon juice-like but nothing sharply puckering, yet still drying the whole palate; gooseberry, white grape and starfruit notes as well, with a very light sweetish core and crisp but adequate carbonation. Drying lactic tartness in the middle over a sourdough- and bready wheat-like basis, light gherkin and passionfruit hints in the end, soft bitterness but the American hops do provide a gentle and refined aromatic quality that fits in well. Very quenching and refreshing.

Keg at the Bottle Shop - Bermondsey. Pours clear yellow with a creamy, white head. The aroma holds spritzy lemon, grapefruit. Light sweet flavour with refreshing lemony tartness, some citrus zest, mild wheat, pithy grapefruit. Light bodied with lively carbonation. Super clean and moderately drying in the finish, with more quenching tart lemon, subtle rindy bitterness. Highly drinkable.
