On tap @ the Stockbridge Tap. Appearance - opaque black with a nice creamy head. I wouldn’t expect a dunkel to be quite opaque. Nose - really ripe bananas, like black bananas. Taste - more of the same with some alcohol sweetness on the finish. Palate - medium to full bodied, big creamy texture, fairly elegant finish, if slightly sweeter than I’d hoped for. Overall - an interesting take on a dunkelweizen. There was more darker barley malt in the mix and the alcohol was higher. It produced something more like a ’’stout-weizen’’. It was very pleasant. I’m not sure if I prefer the traditional German style or not.
