Dark roasty cacao nib and coffee notes. Smooth and easy drinking but seems a bit one-dimensional. Solid beer, but would like to try it BA

Taster at Liquor Express. Pours black, with a small, tan head. The aroma is coffee, bittersweet chocolate, almonds, celery, and toast. Sweet and malty, with a strong bitterness. Heavy body, with a sharp and sticky palate. Big and bold, but not terribly tasty.

750ml bottle at share. Black pour with small cap of beige head. Aroma comes in a bit sweet, roast grains, sugar, smoky. Taste follows with a bit more of the roasty grains. Nice feel over all too.

750ml bottle pours out black topped with a small tan ring. Nose is nice sweet malts chocolate brown sugar ash. Taste is more of the ash smoke and big thick roast.

2018 vintage Re-rate. Draft at Craft Brewed. Deep cacao nib and coffee aromas permeate the nose. Tobacco, coffee and dark chocolate roasted on the palate. Dry and less sweet than previous batches. Not boozy, but the alcohol is there. Not bad, but doesn't really do much in 2018. --- Beer merged from original tick of El Gordo on 01 Dec 2017 at 23:00 - Score: 8. Original review text: Big chocolate nose, Nutella, truffles with vanilla and coffee. Sweet but not cloying. Alcohol hidden so well. Nice stuff.

Bottle. Pours opaque black, large creamy tan head, dissipates slowly, nice lacing. Aroma is roasty, molasses, cocoa, earthy tobacco, coffee grounds. Flavor is light plus sweet, medium bitter, lots of cocoa. Full body. Creamy mouthfeel. Güd.

Bottle shared at LBT2. Pours near black with a small beige head. Aroma of roast, toffee, dark chocolate, toffee, metallic notes and caramel. Flavour is heavy sweet and moderate bitter with alcohol warmth coming out in the palate. Light full bodied with soft carbonation.

Draft at Free the Hops FestivAle in Birmingham. Opaque brown color, beige head with good retention. Aroma of coffee, burnt espresso. Taste is burnt licorice, burnt toast. A bit harsh. Definitely a bog beer.
