Bottle: Poured a deep pitch-black color stout with a deep brown foamy head. Aroma of roasted malt and nice black chocolate notes with some smooth bourbon notes is quite pleasant. Taste is a nice mix of black chocolate notes with some light roasted malt with vanilla, smooth bourbon notes with some light residual sugar notes. Body is full with nice creamy texture and good carbonation with concealed alcohol notes. Super nice treat with great drinkability and plenty of complex notes.

Bottle. Beer is black with a dark brown head, fairly small. Some lacing. The aroma has a distinct sort of soy saucey aroma. It makes me think that it took on some oxidation with the barrel aging. It’s not overwhelming but still a bit strong for my taste. Mild vanilla. A good bit of chocolate. Fairly strong and fruity roast. Taste is much better. Has a lot of caramel sweetness on top of a nice roast and fudge mix base. There’s still some of the soy saucey, woody note, but it’s milder and mostly constrained to the finish. Medium body. Some definite heft. Good but I actually expected a bit more from this one.

Bottle @ RBBWG 2016. Many thanks! Dark red/brown colour, thin head. Nose of ripe fruit, vanilla and bourbon, full taste. Warming sipper. Bit too sweet but ok.

Sampled at a tasting. Black pour, thick, with a head that is slow to rise to the surface. Smells like hcocolate, cocoa, espresso and lactose. Tastes like milk chocolate, bourbon, vanilla, coconut and alcohol. Smooth mouthfeel and low carbonation.

22oz bottle, split with GenDV138. Pitch black color pour. Boom. Bourbon, but not overpowering. Very smooth. Light chocolate powder, not bad at all!

22 oz bottle at ChurchKey split with radagast83. November 2015 batch. Served in a snifter. Black with light tan head. Aromas of caramel, bourbon, dark chocolate, roasty notes, cocoa. Tastes of dark chocolate, caramel, bourbon, cocoa. Medium-full body with a dry finish. Quite nice, very well hidden alcohol for the ABV.

Bottle at RBBWG 2016 in Antwerpen. Clear, very dark red to black, tan head. Sweetish-malty aroma of caramel, dark chocolate and vanilla with hints of dark ripe fruits. Sweetish-malty, slightly roasty taste of dark chocolate, some coffee, toffee, vanilla and burnt nuts, followed by a short, slightly bitter, roasty and slightly warming finish. Medium body, slightly creamy mouthfeel. Very nice!

Thank you for sharing sebletitje! 650 ml. bottle sampled @ RBBWG V. Black very dark mocha head. Faintly sour nose with old chocolate, syrup, molasses, big sugar, quite low vanilla, little barrel otherwise. Taste is powdery chocolate, herbal, cheap mocha, bit thin, instant chocolate milk, low vanilla, light vanilla but little in the way of bourbon otherwise. Bit thin body. Good on its own but doesn’t feel particularly rich for a 10 % USA Bourbon BA RIS. Still nice beer even if it pales in comparison to others in the same category.
