Fantôme – Golden ale, 8% alc. by volume, with a wonderfully musty and characterful aroma. There are many drinkers out there who believe this is the “Nectar of the Gods.” Certainly no other brewer makes beer like this, in Belgium or anywhere. How many beers of 8% plus offer such fresh fruitiness? A solid Belgian saison beer at its base, with an unusual overlay of fruitiness.

All'olfatto si esprimono sentori di sour. L'olfatto viene stimolato in maniera elevata e l'esistenza olfattiva è apprezzabile. Il cappello di schiuma ha una buona tenuta. La grandezza delle bollicine è a grana media, con carbonazione abbondante. Il liquido è di aspetto opalescente. Il colore è arancio pallido. Il corpo è pieno. L'amaro è contenuto e c'è anche una componente moderatamente acidula. La forza gustativa è elevata e la durata è persistente. Le sensazioni boccali finali risultano di birra beverina. Il retrogusto è intenso. Al gusto vengono donati toni di miele, frutta secca, agrumi, spezie, arancia rossa, erbe aromatiche, frutta disidratata, mandorla fresca, rabarbaro, pepe bianco, sour, zolfo, zenzero e legno.

2012 bottle. Yellow irange pour white head good lacing. Wood, pepper spice and fruits. Rather good.

Aroma of citrus, sweet orange, strong funky yeast, lots of barnyard aromas, tons of fruits, apricots, peach, hoppy notes. Flavour is moderate sweet and a bit sour with a light bitter finish. Quite complex and well-balanced, smooth and ridiculously fruity. Probably the best Saison I’ve ever had.

Аромат по большей части фруктовый и хмелевой, есть нотки абрикосов, немного персика и сухофруктов от хураги. Очень на тоненького но все же есть стандартные от стиля омбре сена и колхоза. Выглядит оно красиво, цвет темно желтый, весьма мутный, стойкая и пышная пенка. Во вкусе сразу есть хмель, ощущаются яркие цитрусовые нотки, а также именно цедра от апельсина, немного персиков и абрикосов. При глотке сразу ощутимая хмелевая горчинка. Чувствуются травянистые нотки, легкая сухость и снова цедра от цитрусовых. В целом фруктовый и хмелевой сизон, очень даже неплохо.

"Fantôme Saison", "Belgian ale brewed with spices", 75-cl-Flasche von Jef - thanks a lot! - Helles Goldbraun, leicht trüb. - In der Nase warmes, fein toastiges Malz, Brot und delikate, nur leise herbale und blumige Hopfung, die entfernt an eine Blumen- oder Kräuterwiese denken läßt, vor allem aber die sehr spezielle Bittere alten Hopfens aufweist, die man von Lambic-Bieren kennt. - Antrunk schlank und blaß malzig: der Haupteindruck ist zunächst eine leichte zitronige, blaß erdige Säure, die aber beherrscht (also nicht ungewollt) wirkt und mit der soliden zitronenschaligen Hopfung perfekt harmoniert. Die Gewürze, die das Etikett erwähnt, sind sehr vorsichtig dosiert - ich kann kein einziges klar benennen. Milder rezent, trotz anfänglicher Schlankheit weich im Mund; die 8 % sind meisterhaft kaschiert. Im Abgang bleibt angenehm trockene, nicht übermäßig bittere zitronenschalige Herbe. - Trotz dominierender zitroniger Hopfung ein sehr rundes, weiches Bier, das trotz mächtiger 8 % nirgends schwer wirkt, aber beträchtlichen Tiefgang hat. Sehr probierenswert! (1.1.2025.)

Poured from the tap @ ES. Clear-ish gold with small white head. Apricot, slightly herbaceous, and floral, decent.
