33cl bottle @ home. Opaque, pitch black color with a medium sized, fair lacing, light brown colored head. Smell malts, some coffee, a hint of hops and some roastyness. Taste is heavy malty, heavy bitter, roasted malts and burned coffee. Medium carbonation, medium body.

Bottle at home in London. Pours rich brown with a strong, beige foam head. Lots of rich pine in the nose, dark roast, gritty dirt. Light sweet flavor with aggressive bitterness that easily outmatches the sweetness. Plenty of sticky, burnt pine, dirt, scorched earth. Light in body with average, creamy carbonation. Sturdy, resinous finish, strong roasted malts, heavy dirt, earth, bitter cocoa. It’s a very rich beer, but most of that richness derives from the hops, which lends the beer a somewhat unbalanced feel. Still, some good stuff happening here.

Bitter roasted malt aroma. Body is thin but quite slick. Has a slightly smokey taste. Nicely dry and bitter. Big taste for low alcohol.

Black color with creamy head. Nice aroma of roasted malts and dark chocolate, firewood too. Dry mouthfeel, strong flavor of roasted malts, a bit ashy; some sourness from the roasted malts. Correct bitterness, some of it from the roasted malts.
