This is a hybrid, red Octoberfest beer brewed with British and German malts and Styrian Goldings. It combines the luscious maltness of an Octoberfest and the character from a Scottish yeast.

Cask at The Hanging Bat. Pours clear copper, thick off-white head. Aromas of toffee, marzipan, stone fruit. Taste is more of the same, quite a heavy sweetness, more marzipan. Touch on the sweet side for me, but nice.

Cask at The Hanging Bat. Hazy amber body with a thin off-white head. Nice lacing. Aroma of copper, marzipan and Christmas pudding. Flavour is a bit weird - earth, spice, nuts, icing sugar and candied plum. Thin body with a watery, slightly oily texture. Faint carbonation prickle. An odd beer - not undrinkable by any means, but just very unusual and not particularly moreish. Liquidised Christmas pudding.
