Proper Job is an authentic IPA brewed with Cornish spring water and malt made from a blend of malts including Cornish grown Maris Otter barley. Hops used are Cascade, Chinook and Willamette. A powerfully hopped golden bitter that explodes with citrus grapefruit flavours.

500ml bottle - A great looking beer, nice clear amber, solid white head that lasts and laces, a great nose of grapefruit. Heavy on the hops in the aroma, with lots of bitter citrus in a well rounded body. Bitter finish, lasts quite a bit. Not bad, but I can get easily bored with the full on bitterness.

(bottle from Mr Lawrence, SE London) Clear golden pour with medium diminishing off white head. Sweet citrus hops and caramel malt, very refreshing. Goes nicely from initial sweetness on palate to bitter finish (D12)

Bottled 500ml. -I’ve got no idea where I found this one. I think maybe in Bieres Cultes (des Halles) but why German paper sticker declaration on the bottle???!!! Shared with Marko and luttonm. Hazy yellow/orange coloured, creamy white head, pleasant grapefruity citrusy nose. Moderate malty, citrusy and caramel taste with pleasant hoppy notes. Nice bitter finish. Much closer to American than British IPA. Really great surprise.

Bottle: Golden to deep golden, loose and slowly collapsing off-white head with a little lace, moderate spicy grapefruity and resiny nose, bisquity pale malt underneath; almost solid bitter-sweet flavour, medium bodied; lingering silky bitter-grapefruity finish, balanced by pale malt. Good job...

Ogi got this in France I think. Anyway, poured a misty golden body with a small white head. Elderflower and citrus notes in the aroma, light cheese too. Nice dry bitterish peachy taste, lightly herbal (and something) finish, a bit creamy graininess... nice. Lingering bitterness in the finish, fresh, no off notes, a proper job indeed, we all loved it!

Bottle. Golden colour with a creamy ad off-white head, nice lacework and perfect lasting. Aroma is hoppy, lightly malty and floral. Flavor has a decent bitterness, with good duration in the mouth, floral. Dry and bittery final. Carbonation and body are medium.

Bottle from Cave à Bulles. Pours hazy light amber with a creamy/bubbly beige head. Aroma is primarily light pitted fruits. Med body; foamy carb. Flavor is light caramel with a lot of light pitted fruit and citrus - even developing grapefruit rind. It is so not typical over the pond style. Finishes more bitter than many U.S. (particularly East Coast) IPAs, but NW? Considering this is only 5.5, I think it would give NW beers a run for the prize. Good stuff indeed.

A very nice bitterness with flowery notes, and a hint of sweetness. Amber in color with a lasting white head.

(Draught at Black Door, 20120624) The beer poured pale golden and clear. Its head was medium sized, white and dense. Aroma had citricness, fruitiness, mildly pine and malts. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, citricness, biscuits, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was hoppy and bitter. Quite tasty and better than the cask version.
