9 different malts contribute to the smooth body and with masses of Simcoe hops, expect big flavours.

Cask (Tilley’s, Newcastle) - Dark brown with orangey red tinges. Chocolate, roasted malt and a hint of toffee in the aroma. Roasted malt, coffee, chocolate and almonds can be detected in the taste.

On cask at the Guildford. Appearance - not actually black but more of a toffee brown. Thin fawn head. Nose - hazelnuts and toffee. Taste - loads more nuts bit now getting into milk chocolate. Palate - light to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long elegant finish. Overall - I think this actually sits in between a porter and a brown ale.
