Though a Belgian Dark Ale on untappd, my review will be based on what ratebeer says.
This was poured into a tulip.
The appearance was a nice looking hazy dark brown color with a one to two finger white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute leaving some light lacing sticking and sliding at the same time.
The smell had a glossed over slightly cooked sugary and slight chocolate /glazed cakey sort of breadiness.
The taste pretty much copied the smell with a light sweet chocolatey aftertaste leading to a sweet wet finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation sat pretty good for the style and for me.
Overall, I say this was a pretty good Belgian Strong Ale and a good Belgian Dark Ale. I’d have it again.

The Christmas Rulles, with thick, moussy, light beige head and very dark burgundy colour; aroma of elderberries, ginger, brambleberries, chocolate, walnuts, candi sugar, grapefruit, bark, pepper. Dark fruity taste, not sweet, smooth caramelly and very nutty malts, full coffee-like roasted bitterness in the finish, chocolatey, grassy hops, dry. Artisanal Wallonian Scotch.

Bottle at Casper is back tasting. Lasting deep amber colour. Bit of puke. Not great bit perfumed. Soap perfumed not for me. On tap at Moeder Lambic Fontainas. Malty hoppy nowhere near the flavours I got before but can understand why I said what I said. Malty in mouth hoppy finish. Cereal fine.

Bottle thanks to Matteo. It pours deep amber with a small light beige head. The nose is earthy, must, wood, mild caramel, must and brown bread. The taste is wood, piney, bitter, varnish, light caramel, must, barnyard and spice with a dry, bitter finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Solid.

Bottle shared at chriso’s. Pours mostly clear amber with a big, creamy light tan head. The nose has some Belgian yeast, toasty bread, caramel, ripe fruits. Medium sweet flavor with further bready malts, ripened fruits, some raspberry jam, mild earth. Medium to full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Sweet finish with plenty more bready malts, ripe fruits, berries, slight toffee, toast. Solid stuff.

Tasted on tap at 02/06/2014. Dark brown with a small head. The taste is dark fruites, cola and veeery sweet. Aftertaste is a little waterly and the only intensive in the taste is the sweetness. Next one please!
