750ml bottle, split amongst friends. Poured a pretty clear amber color, medium sized slightly off-white head. Aroma was light spices, some malts. Flavor was nice light spices. Muted citrus notes. Very pleasant to drink, spices are subtle, but are not lost in the base beer.

Dark spicey beer, with lots of dark fruits and herbs. Not overly sweet or malty, it’s balanced.

750 ml green bottle, Cardinal’s Christmas beer tasting. ABV is 7.3%. Brown colour, large beige head. Lovely malty aroma, with typical notes of Belgian ale yeast, brown kandij sugar, caramel, dark dried fruits and mild spices. The flavour is rich and malty, with the same elements as the aroma, and moderate hops in the finish. Very good.

0.75l bottle shared with The Tasting Crew. It has a nice medium sized dense almost creamy looking head on top of a clear deep dark ruby red warm body. Looks quite good in the glass. Not to extreme on the nose. I get a nice little malty sweetness with a faint fruitiness touch and a hint of yeast. Quite mellow and mild. It feels light oily in the mouth and the carbonation level is small and prickling on the tongue. Soft watery coffee essence flavored and other than that I have to say that this was surprisingly neutral in the taste. Sugary sweet and light malty, other than that this was quite a neutral tasting (and dare I say a bit boring?) one. 18.12.2013

Flasche vom Bierzwerg-Online-Biershop. - Dunkles Rotbraun. - Alte Bewertung: 3,4.
Neuverkostung: Flasche (75 cl) vom Bierzwerg, 2 Jahre daheim gelagert. - Außerordentlich komplexes Bier mit perfekten moosig-säuerlichen Anklängen, die dieses Dubbel zu etwas ganz Außerordentlichem machen. Ragt weit aus dem Durchschnitt heraus.

Bottle. Nicely drinkable christmas beer with mild notes of chocolate, fruitiness (from the yeast) and some orange from the hops. Simple but nice. Soft carbonation. Feels a bit weaker than 7,3abv.

Bottle @ benzai shared by me. Dark brown colour with a large off-white to beige head. Smells some distant chocolate, some herbs, slightly roasty, malts. Pretty nice. Tastes chocolate, malts, sweetish, some liquorice, herbs. Pretty amazing beer. I usually don’t like these sort of beers, but this one is spot on. Medium body, soft carbo, highly enjoyable.
