Dark beer with a rich colour and a soft, pleasant taste. During the brewing process there is some coffee malt added, which is frequently used in the recipes of the dark beer. This allows to maintain a fine malt flavor, but has a softer aftertaste. The true fans of foamy drink consider Dunkles as the top of the beer brewing masterclass. (alc 4.6 - 4.8 %)

Quite dark color with a fine tan head. Ok lacing. Looks good. Ok intensity in the aroma. Medium (+) body and a softish carbonation. A bit oily texture and a bit to sweet. Dark malt, toffee and a bit fruity flavor. Decent ok beer.

25cl draft sample @ BH, Tallinn.

On tap at Beer House, Tallinn. Dark, hazy brown with a modest head. Malty aroma with some fruity and mildly hoppy flavours. Sweet, malty and somewhat fruity with just hints of hops. Fairly tasty and quite sessionable.

Growler shared at a tasting at Stas’s place. Thanks mom for this bottle! Hazy brown with a big beige head. Aroma of butterscotch, caramel and dolce de leche,. Sweetish flavor with butterscotch, caramel and a drier finish with a faint bitter note. Creamy diacetyl mouthfeel.

Draught @ the brewpub
Aroma is sweet with butter and toffee. Also hints of berries and bready malt. Flavour has berries, malt, toffee, some caramel and hints of hay. Well, at least this differs a bit from their other brews.

Draught at the brewpub. Mahogany colour, small head. Molasses and wood up front. Sweet, bold and chewy with more caramel and molasses than roastiness. Sticky. The beer that appealed the least to me on this brewpub.

Draught in the brew pub. Dark brown pour with good tan head. Sweet light aroma and reasonably ok flavor with subtle chocolate and mild bitterness. By no means a great beer, but ok by current Estonian standards. (Rated 2011/04/26)

Draught at the brewpub. Poured a very dark red body, almost black. Coffeeish, sweet nose, slightly yoghurty. Coffeeish sweet full taste, light acidity. A very nice dunkel!
