Suomen palkituin olut. Musta väriltään, kuohkea espressomainen vaahto, raikas mäntypihkainen havumetsien tuoksu. Jälkimaussa napakka humalan puraisu, joka on tasapainossa mallaspohjan kanssa.

Cask-GBBF. Black with a small brown head. Grassy and citrus hop aroma, lightly roast malt and caramel/toffee. Sweet with a good deal of hop flavour, some alcohol and roast bitterness in the finish. But the sweetness is a bit too much for my taste

Cask at GBBF 2006. A pitch black beer with a lasting orange-brown head. The aroma is quite hoppy combined with notes of grass and grapefruit, as well as light notes of chocolate. The flavor is very complex with notes of citrus, hops, and chocolate, leading to an with notes of grapefruit. Like hop soup with chocolate.

(Draught at GBBF, London, 2 Aug) Colour is pitch black with a brown frothy head. Nose is roasted, but mainly hoppy with notes of pine needles and resin. Taste is roasted with chocolate and lots of hops, notes of citrus, pine needles and resin. Bittersweet finish with espresso (with lots of sugar), liquorice, juniper berries and some dried apricot. Hmm! Very complex, surprisingly hoppy. Quite lovely actually. (8/5/8/4/16=4.1) Rerate: (Bottle, 12 April 2021) Black colour with creamy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of black coffee, dark chocolate, Finnish black rye bread, liquorice and hints of citrus and pine needles. Malty, roasted taste with black coffee, cacao, dark chocolate, liquorice, black rye bread, pine needles, a touch of grapefruit and a generous piney, roasted bitterness in the finish. Almost full body, quite dry. Yummy, really tasty and in great balance. Even better than I remember. Great beer.

Draught at GBBF 2006. Thanks to maeib for getting the 2 Finnish beers. Black and thick with a dark tan head. Beautiful rich dark choc aroma. Bit of herb. Quite sour in mouth. Rich, heavy, thick. Bit of oily richness. Quite stunning. Rich thick choc and espresso coffee like in mouth. Full on Impy stout. I think everyone was too polite to finish it.

[Draught at GBBF] Pitch black, no head. Salty licorice and tar simmers on a soft but firm compact maltiness. Packed with flavour, but not assaulting. Vicely bitter, salty finish. The softness and blance makes it one of the best imperial stouts anywhere.

Draught. Black colour, brown big head. Roasted malts, toffee, hops and some hayish notes in aroma. Roasted malt, hayish hops and alcohol in flavour. Feels a bit unbalanced as for the sweetness which is there all the way through. Kind of cuts in in a bad way with the hops.
