Suomen palkituin olut. Musta väriltään, kuohkea espressomainen vaahto, raikas mäntypihkainen havumetsien tuoksu. Jälkimaussa napakka humalan puraisu, joka on tasapainossa mallaspohjan kanssa.

Pitch black color, off white head. Sweet honey, blood oranges, dark chocolate, liquorice all make an appearance, in this somewhat unusual brew. Sweet malty backbone and a long bitter finish.

Draught (St Urho’s, Helsinki) - Very dark brown, almost black with a tan head. Slightly perfumed and hoppy aroma with soap, hops, chocolate and coffee. Hoppy and roasted taste which is slightly soapy. Not bad but perhaps a bit too hoppy for this style. Having said that, most ’imperial stouts’ seem to be like this these days.

(On tap) Pours black and opaque with a light brown head. Sweet aroma of vanilla and hard roasted malt. Quite full-bodied with distinctly sweet hard roasted malt. Has a light malt bitterness. A friendly Imperial Stout, but perhaps a little to the overly sweet side. 120908

Tap at EBF. Pitch black with a creamy brown head. Nose is hoppy & roasted. Smooth - yet a bit weak palate. Taste has coffee & again a lot of fruity hops. A hoppy imp. stout for sure. Good!

From tap. Pours brown to pitch black with a fully diminished chocolate brown head. Hopy and roasted malty aroma. Smooth marmelade hoppy flavour to a mild roasted chocolate malty base flavour. Light sweet and bitter into the finish. Lingering herbal and fresh hoppy.

(From old notes, draught at Pikkulintu on 2008-01-04) Black. Lots of hops with pine aroma in nose. Likewise, the taste has got pine aroma in addition to roasted malts. Exceptionally good version of Siperia.

Draught Dark orange-brown head; pitch-black beer. Oily hops, USA-like, a bit of hopscake and some... frying oil? Sweet, with a bitter, inky lining, ending in a hops onslaught. Leafy hops, and the alcohol remains hidden. Very oily, thick MF, chewy. Aftertaste fully hops bitter. Quite good, but I’d call it a Royal, ’stead of Imperial Porter...
