Pils-style lager. This Pils lager has a well balanced bittersweet aroma with a good hop articulation. Smooth creamy, light fruit and grainy mouth-feel in the traditional style. 1882 has a refreshing classic crisp bitter finish. 4.7%vol
Our lager has a taste that’s as fresh as the Saaz and Hallertau Mittlefruh hops used to make it.
Newton Falkland Brewery first used these two Germanic hops to create their Pilsner lager in 1882.
The yeast has a slow fermentation at lower temperature, so this refreshing lager takes a little longer to produce than our ales. We think it’s a taste well worth the wait.

33cl bottle - sample from Victoria at Stockbridge Market. Pours golden with a nicely proportioned head. The nose has honey primarily, perhaps even custard. The taste is a little fresher but still not reminiscent of other Pils except possibly a Bock. The palate is medium bodied and there’s a fairly substantial texture. Overall, a pils but not as we know it, Jim.
