The rich imperial stout which was brewed with chocolate malt and flavoured with Madagascar vanilla was born from the co-operation with the brewmaster from St. Petersburg.

This proud beer might have fit to the tables of the Czar’s court in the old days but the aficionados of craft beers are entitled to enjoy it nowadays.

Külluslik šokolaadilinnastega pruulitud ja Madagascari vaniljega maitsestatud imperial stout on sündinud koostöös Peterburi pruulmeistriga.

See uhke õlu sobinuks vanasti tsaari õukonna lauale, aga tänapäeval jääb sellega maiustamine käsitööõlle sõprade pärusmaaks.

Bottle at home. Very dark brown pour with a tall tan head that is slow to rise to the surface. Notes of roasted malts, toasted caramel, licorice, burnt coffee beans, dark chocolate, vanilla, molasses, light resinous hops. Almost full body, almost smooth texture, with maybe a bit too much carbonation for the style. A nice surprise, with a bit of fine-tuning this beer will be excellent. --- Beer merged from original tick of Lehe / Vasileostrovskaya Ravnodenstvie on 22 Apr 2017 at 16:46 - Score: 8. Tap at Beer Hunters. Opaque black color, small brownish head. Aroma has cocoa, chocolate, sweetness. Full-bodied. Cocoa, chocolate, roasted malts, some hops and alcohol. Powerful but not boozy. Tasteful.

Many thanks to Erzengel for sharing! Pours almost black with a huge good lasting brownish head. Aroma of dark roasted malt, quite sweet, nice chocolate and toffee. Taste of intense sweet malt, dark chocolate, toffee, liquorice, nice bitter hops in the background, absolute fascinating!

Many thanks to my Secret EU-Santa martjoobolut for this bottle! Extremely rich and viscous beginning. Deep chocolate, caramel. Smooth roast. Fantastic depth, easy to drink and thick in one. Liquid dark coffee-chocolate, more than deep and concentrated aroma. Long chocolate with hints of wood and dark cherries in the aftertaste. Absolutely fascinating round and intense brew with a moderate grainy-roasted bitterness!

(Keg at BrewDog Helsinki, 20161130) The beer poured black. Its head was medium sized and lightly brown. Aroma had vanilla, liquorice and dark chocolate. Palate was full bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were dark chocolate, sweetness, ash, burnt malts, molasses and bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet, burnt and bitter. A sweet and a bit kvass-like imperial stout.

Draught @ OlutExpo 2016. Pours pitch black with a foamy brown head. Aroma of roasty malts, vanilla, coffee, licorice, cocoa and hints of syrup. Taste is smooth, sweetish and roasty with some licorice, vanilla, coffee, cocoa and coconuts. Finish is smooth, sweetish and slightly roasty with some licorice, coffee, cocoa and vanilla. Pretty good and balanced imperial stout.

Tap @Olutexpo 2016. Poured near black with a thin brown head. Vanilla quite strong, chocolate, nutty notes. Wow. Flavor has vanilla, coffee, dark chocolate, smoothness, vanilla dessert. Sweet, but fulfilling.

Bottle, batch 1 (from Koht). Pours black with light brown head. Aroma is sweet, cocoa, malt, roast, vanilla, some fruits. Flavor is sweet and bitter, cocoa, vanilla, chocolate, roast, malt. Finish is dark chocolate and hops with some vanilla. Covers alcohol rather well (extra +1 to overall). Overall: very good. Multiple batches over time. One of the best in Estonia, +2 to overall, +1 to palate.
