Nils Oscar Imperial Stout is brewed only in a limited edition. Also Nils Oscar Imperial Stout was awarded as the best beer in the world. This beer is brewed with many varieties of hops and malt, nothing saved to make the stout full of character. Imperial Stout is best enjoyed combined with the dessert but works wonderfully with oysters. The Nils Oscar Imperial Stout can be enjoyed today but preferably mature a couple of years.

New Beer Distributors, NY 330ml ($6.05): Pours black with small brown head. Aroma is molasses, with some dark chocolate, and roasted malts. Taste is slightly sweet. Roasted malts are lightly present throughout. Pretty easy drinking. Not exceedingly complex, but well-balanced.

33cl bottle from trade with SaintMatty, shared with Dutchdrebus. Almost black colored, but when held into the light a deep dark red glow comes through. Medium sized very light brown head that fairly quickly becomes a slight lacing on top. Smell dark malts, chocolate, coffeebeans, raisins and slightly sweet. Taste dark malts, lightly some roastyness, lightly raisin, some coffee and chocolate hints, slightly dark fruits and ’bastogne-koeken’. Soft, velvety mouthfeel, soft carbonation, low to medium body.

Bottle thx to benzai. Black with some ruby redness shining through with a decent, creamy slightly off-white head. Smells dog food (salty somehow), dark chocolate, roasty, coffee, malts, burned. Tastes roasty, coffee, dark chocolate, some mocca, roasty, burned. Quite a nice and long lasting taste. Very soft on the throat, silky, medium to full body. Really enjoyable beer.

11.2 oz. bottle, pours a very dark brown / near-black with a small tan head. Aroma of toasted notes, slight fruitiness and earthy dank notes. Flavour of weak toasted nuts, some stale coffee, soy sauce and bittersweet chocolate. Very thin and watery, weak flavoured and tastes like day-old coffee. This is a bit of a failure.

Bottle. Pours deep black with an extremely thin brown head and some lacing. Aroma is wonderfully rich chocolate, espresso, raisin, with a smoky note. Flavor is quite sweet coffee and chocolate with molasses notes and a smoky finish. Rich and full bodied, silky smooth.

En riktigt bra stout. Smak och doft av choklad, torkad frukt. Torr och harmonisk.

Bottle, Beer Ritz, Leeds. Black pour with a fading pillowy tan/off white head. Decent nose of roasted malt, dark choc and cocoa. Pretty lively carbonation. Flavour had some earthy hop, coffee and roasted malts notes. Lacking a bit of body for me really.

En två år gammal flaska med en fantastik chokladdoft. Smaken lever inte riktigt upp till förväntningarna. Kroppen känns torr och lite platt och de 7% lite i klenaste laget för en IS. Ändå sammantaget en riktigt god extra stout.

Bottle 330ml @ home
Pours black with a tan head. Aroma has notes of roasted malt, chocolate and coffee. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Bottle bought @ Systembolaget and consumed on September 10. Pours black with a thin white head that quickly disappears. Smell is sweet with hints of vanilla and alcohol. Taste is rather sweet with hints of roasted malt, some hops and chocolate. Sadly taste is also a bit watery. Mouthfeel is rather fizzy. A pretty nice and humble stout that is far from living up to being imperial.
