For this speciality, we use old and young lambic beer that has aged in our oak casks. When the lambic is 6 months old, we add 25% black cherries. This provokes the second fermentation. We then clarify, filter and bottle it.
The cherries and young lambic create a red beer that is both natural and fresh, with an absolutely unforgettable sweet and sour taste. This is kriek as it should be, with nothing but real cherries and lambic. There is no place for artificial colourings or flavourings.

375 ml bottle. 2014. York Beer and Wine. Hazy, dark ruby colour. Halo of dark pink head. Nose has sweet, ripe black cherry. Cherry syrup. Black Forest gateau. Notes of cherry stone and raspberry ice cream. Barely a trace of sourness. Taste is sweet with a light, stone fruit, earthy dryness. Light body. Foamy mouthfeel. Gets less sweet on the finish. I get how some may love this beer, and I did enjoy the one glass, but overall it’s a bit sweet for me.

2014. Thanks to the guy who brought these & the CR crew. Reddish body. Unappealing aroma, even for the style, cherries, medicinal notes and heavy vinagre. The taste is much fresher though, cherries, light tartness. Good but not more than that. The smell is the only thing off about this.

375ml bottle. (Vintage 2013) Pours a clear, dark ruby with a medium, log lasting, pink head that laces. Aroma of tart cherries. Sweet flavour of tart cherries with a crisp, dry, acidic finish. Light body with an oily texture and soft carbonation. Tasty.

(2014) Cherries, cooked cherries, fresh apples and some dough /cream-cheesiness. Little dusty flavors. Overall fruity sweet, no obvious added sugar in the flavor and a very light sour finish. Body is medium, texture is dry, carbonation is average. | [2017-08-25 17:28:02] - Locatie: Eeuwige Jachtvelden - Score: 3.3 - Comment: Decent sweet kriek. Some cardboard and metallic notes. Isolated cherry aroma, sugar. | [2020-04-07 17:23:34] - Locatie: SjogroWorld™ - Score: 3.3 - Comment: (2018) Was al zo lang geleden dat ik t wel weer eens wilde proberen. Bottle at home. Vintage 2014. Bottle picked up at local Gall & Gall. Dark ruby red with pink head. Cherries, cooked cherries, fresh apples and some dough /cream-cheesiness (probably from the yeast). Little dusty flavors. Overall fruity sweet, no obvious added sugar in the flavor and a very light sour finish. Body is medium, texture is dry, carbonation is average. Very tasty kriek! I think this is the best ’non sour’ kriek I’ve had so far. Edi: Sweetness becomes stronger when it warms up. // 2017/08/25 @ eeuwige jachtvelden. Decent sweet kriek. Some cardboard and metallic notes. Isolated cherry aroma, sugar.

Bottle of 2014-edition at Cardinal with BHK 22.12.15. Clear deep ruby. Pink head. Sour aroma and taste of cherries and cherry jam. Also a hint of unripe plums. Dry mouthfeel. Uncomplicated and very quaffable.

25cl bottle from Beer52.com - 2014 vintage. An attractive cherry red colour with a tight pink head; fresh ripe cherry aroma; pleasant taste with very tart fruit and an underlying sweetness; and a clean finish with lingering almonds. A satisfying full fruity beer.

BOTTLE 25 CL. Clear ruby-pink, pink head. The aroma is mostly cherry syrup, rotten cherries, almost nothing lambic. The taste is similar, sweet and slightly rotten, mild acidity - more cherry and fruity than sour beer. The body slightly sticky. A hint of piquant bitterness in the finish is the only thing that reminds of a lambic. Sweeet.
