For this speciality, we use old and young lambic beer that has aged in our oak casks. When the lambic is 6 months old, we add 25% black cherries. This provokes the second fermentation. We then clarify, filter and bottle it.
The cherries and young lambic create a red beer that is both natural and fresh, with an absolutely unforgettable sweet and sour taste. This is kriek as it should be, with nothing but real cherries and lambic. There is no place for artificial colourings or flavourings.

Klare rötliche Farbe mit weißer Schaumkrone. Prägnant fruchtiger Geruch. Geschmacklich fruchtig mit Kirschen, leicht hopfig. Mittlere Süße mit leichter Bitterkeit, leichter bis mittlerer Körper mit spürbarer Kohlensäure.

Mørk rød med rosa aktig topp som daler fort. Aroma: kirsebær, marsipan, gjær og hint av sprit. Nesten litt kvalmende søt lukt. Smak: Sterk øyeblikkelig smak av kirsebær, søtlig smak av mandler, malt. Myk konsistens, en del kullsyre. Smaker mer som noe som passer bedre som saus over en fruktkompott enn i ei ølflaske.

Douceur est le maître mot de cette kriek. Et si les arômes de cerise, bien que simples, sont globalement appréciables (ils font parfois un peu artificiels tout de même), cette Kriek manque de pep's et devient vite ennuyeuse. Le visuel est sur une robe rose foncé avec une mousse blanche disparate. Le nez est sur un mixte vin rosé, cerise et grenadine. Si sur l'attaque une petite acidité prend les devants, la douceur prend vite l'ascendant donnant une bière relativement lourde en bouche. Et ce d'autant plus qu'avec 4 %, ce n'est pas l'alcool qui vient à la rescousse. Cette Kriek n'est donc pas pour les spécialistes mais pour grand public. Et encore, le grand public mérite mieux tout de même.
