For this speciality, we use old and young lambic beer that has aged in our oak casks. When the lambic is 6 months old, we add 25% black cherries. This provokes the second fermentation. We then clarify, filter and bottle it.
The cherries and young lambic create a red beer that is both natural and fresh, with an absolutely unforgettable sweet and sour taste. This is kriek as it should be, with nothing but real cherries and lambic. There is no place for artificial colourings or flavourings.

Bottle at home. Thanks Kosuke. Lovely dark cherry red colour with pink fluffy bubbly head. Krieks always look great I think. Aroma is sweet cherries, bit of sweet cherry drops candy smell too. Hint of sourness. Taste is nice. Cherry drops again, just a touch of sourness. Obviously not as interesting as the oude kriek, but still much nicer than a syrupy macro kriek. Easy drinking, satisfyingly bubbly. Makes me crave something more sour, but this is still lovely and fruity. Gateway kriek.

Vinous aroma with cherries. Small but lasting head. Sweet and sour strong cherry taste, a bit like cheap sweets. It is not a real, sour kriek like Cantillon, but it is certainly a nice beer, relatively easy to drink. Tap, beer of the month august 2006 in ABT pubs, tasted in that month in Café Morshuis in Albergen. Cherry yoghurt aroma. Sweet amarena cherries in the flavor. Milky with fresh cheese. Soft fruity sourness. Hint of cherry pits. Very nice (8 3 8 4 15 = 3.8)

(Bottle, 0.75 l - 2015 vintage - batch 70504 - BB 25.08.2019, from a supermarket, 20190702) The beer poured ryby red and clear. Its head was pink, fizzy and quite large. Aroma had sweet cherries and lightly tartness. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were sweet cherries, light sourness and a hint of tartness. Aftertaste was lightly woody and mildly tart. A rather sweet one.
