For this speciality, we use old and young lambic beer that has aged in our oak casks. When the lambic is 6 months old, we add 25% black cherries. This provokes the second fermentation. We then clarify, filter and bottle it.
The cherries and young lambic create a red beer that is both natural and fresh, with an absolutely unforgettable sweet and sour taste. This is kriek as it should be, with nothing but real cherries and lambic. There is no place for artificial colourings or flavourings.

0,25 l bottle, 2016. Pours ruby red with quickly dissipating light pinky head. Aroma of sour cherries, some nuts, very lightly vinous, sweet and sour. Taste is light sweet, very low bitter and slightly sour. Body is medium, carbonation average, slick on the tongue. Finish is medium, sweet and sour cherry flavor lingers for a while.

Bottle from Waitrose, Frimley. Vinous and balsamic aroma with, strangely enough, cherry skins. Ruby red. Lovely pink creamy head. Light sour before sugary cherry sweetness comes through. Light-medium bodied. Thin with a sticky residue. Fizzy carbonation. Dry finish. A good balance of sour and sweet. The latter edges it but doesn't overdo things.

From tap at Bruges Bier Museum. Blood red, pink foamy head. Bubblegum, sweet cherries, some rose wine, raspberries. Light dry and sweet. Watery texture, light bodied, low carbonated, abrupt finish. Okay.

Flaska från Belgiuminabox. Knallröd med rosavit krona. Doftar och smakar Körsbärskaramell. Lite lättare, nästan tunn. En snäll och intetsägande sötma och syra.

Bottle at home from Waitrose, 6th July 18 in Heatwave UK. Pours pink and good looking. Aroma is cherry candy. Taste is sweet, too sweet, cherry candy. As I imagined too sweet and not great as a result.

375ml bottle. Deep ruby colour with small, frothy, diminishing, pink-ish head. Intense, sweet-ish, fruity cherry aroma with minimally artificial touch of Haribo Happy Cherries, a touch of wine gum. Taste is sweet, fruity, notes of cherry, hints of wine gum, Haribo Happy Cherries; flattering sweet but neither too sweet nor artificial.

Fles thuis geprobeerd. Het heeft een diep rode kleur met weinig schuim. De geur is zoet, kersen, beetje overrijp fruit. De smaak is bijna kersensap, drinkt lekker weg.
