Tap. Pours hazy orange amber with a large off-white head that leaves nice lacing. Flavor is very caramely, with notes of pine, citrus and passionfruit. Flavor about the same with light sweetness and a medium lingering bitterness. Full bodied and rich. More malt forward than I typically like my IPA’s, but nicely balanced.

22 oz. bottle, pours a beautiful ruby red / orange with a small white head. Aroma is extremely fruity, quite syrupy and caramel malt heavy, with some citrusy hops somewhere underneath. Flavour is thankfully less sweet than the nose suggests, with loads of dry citrusy hops and loads of pungent tropical fruits (mangos, pineapples), some berries and a big whopping caramel malt backbone to not only hold it all together, but provide a big flavour component too, detracting a bit from the hoppy bitterness. All in all, well-rounded, albeit slightly too malt-forward, IIPA. Good stuff.

On tap at Amundsen. Deep golden with an off-white head. Malty aroma with hops, alcohol, citrus. Sweet and almost liqueur like with quite low carbonation. Solid bitterness balances the sweetness to a certain degree. Spicy and bitter aftertaste.

On tap at the Craft Beer Co, Clerkenwell (Dec ’11), served in a half pint ’tulip’ style glass. Light orange to gold in colour, clear and with minimal head and lacing. Hoppy aroma and with emphasis on citrus notes, particularly grapefruit. Not the strongest teasting of double IPA’s, and not overly bitter/high IBU, but distinct citrus tang, as with the smell, predominately grapefruit. Mouthfeel - tart, refreshing, dry-ish aftertaste.

Keg at CBC, London. Pours a lightly hazy, amber-brown with a foamy head. Poopey fruit, berries in the aroma, some pine, caramel. Very sweet flavor, toasty malts, bread, toasty sugar, light pine and ripe citrus. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly warming and sticky finish, more caramel, mild pine, fruits. OK beer. A little odd but decent overall.

On tap at Ølfestival 2011. A small, dense, off-white head sits on top of a clear, amber body. Canned tropical fruits mix, some alcohol, resin and pine cones on the quite sweetish nose. Sweet and fruity flavor with a decent bitterness. Well, I would like more bitterness, but there’s at least enough to prevent it from being unbalanced towards sweetness. Full-bodied, sweetish and pleasantly carbonated. Bitter and fruity finish. A decent beer, but a bit strange and boring. 110527

On tap at Beer Temple. Glad I only ordered a small glass... Hazy orange colour, off white head. Aroma of ranja, sweet oranges and bitter grapefruit, hops. Flavour is very sweet, sticky, sweet oranges, ranja again, very bitter leafy grassy bitter finish. Medium to fullbodied. Undrinkable imo, way too harsh..
