En kraftig "Imperial Porter" med kaffetoner och eftersmak av saltlakrits. Inte lika dumdristig som storebror ”Idjit!” men har inga problem med att stå på egna ben!

From the one and only Dugges Ale & Porterbryggeri in Gothenburg, Sweden, an original, robust "Imperial Porter" with notes of coffee and salty liqorice.

0.33l bottle. A deep dark brown pour with a nice small kinda bubbly light brown top. Smells really nice with lots and lots of licorice. A bit of both coffee and dark grains, with a ethanol / paint thinner hint. It has a really thick and viscous mouthfeel with a soft prickling carbonation level. The licorice is also really present in the taste. Some cold coffee, a dry roastiness with some almost fudge like hints. Quite tasty, but there is also something I'm not finding fantastic here. Hard to explain really, but it's a bit like bitter nuts and yeast. Still, have to say that I'm enjoying this dark licoricy thing. 28.06.2013

Bottle. Pours a dark murky brown color wth a small white head. A sweet nose with woody oxidation and plum. A sweet flavor of vanilla, cocoa, chocolate, light heat, very dry, thin and some oxidation. Mellow. Pretty good.

A hazed dark brown porter with a thin mocha to brown head. In aroma, a nice mix of chocolate, briney coffee and burned coffee, with smooth grassy notes. In mouth, a nice smooth bitter chocolate with coffee grains, caramel and light peated notes.

Bottle at home. The colour is dark brown to black with a small light beige head that fades fast. Nice roasted aroma with lots of coffee, dark chocolate, lactose and nuts. More roasted malt in a similar flavour. Has a slick mouth feel, and a light bitterness. A nice roasted imperial porter but maybe a bit straight forward and one dimensional.

Aroma has cocoa, some semi‐dark chocolate and coffee. Flavour has roasted notes, some coffee, milk chocolate, licorice and cocoa. Nice, could be more rich though.
