En kraftig "Imperial Porter" med kaffetoner och eftersmak av saltlakrits. Inte lika dumdristig som storebror ”Idjit!” men har inga problem med att stå på egna ben!
From the one and only Dugges Ale & Porterbryggeri in Gothenburg, Sweden, an original, robust "Imperial Porter" with notes of coffee and salty liqorice.

Deep brown body with a bit of a chewy look and absolutely no head at all, hardly any bubbles at all. Aroma of chocolate, alcohol, pit fruits, nuts, earth and a bit of anise. Light-bodied; Strong roasty flavour with a nutty and quite earthy flavour with alcohol and a lot of pit fruit and sweet tastes. Aftertaste is bitter with earth, metal, alcohol and a lot of raisin and deep fruit notes. Overall, a decent baltic porter, but strong on the metallic and earthy notes with a lot of bitterness, and not much body and not so great in other categories. I sampled this 50 cL bottle purchased from Oliver’s Beverage in Albany, New York on 18-November-2011 for US$7.99 sampled at home in Washington on 23-August-2012.

Bottle. 1 pint .9 oz. At first popping the cap I could smell roasted malt. Poured deep brown, nearly no head to show. Bottled Conditioned yeast floating around and settling to the bottom of the snifter. Nose is a nice mixture of Coffee, Roasted malt and chocolate. Taste is much the same with a nice surprise in the finish. I get a salty nut flavor. Kind of like a roasted peanut. This salty, roasted peanut give this brew its own Identity and make it slightly different. It was nice sipping this brew. The body was a little thin but I over-looked it. I really believe this is worth a try and I would drink again. Side note: I paired this with a Reese Peanut butter cup. I think the Candy complimented this brew.

Very thick, dark brown with minimal head. Sweet, chocolatey malts, cake, dark sugar, light roasted malt, molasses in the aroma. Full, silky smooth body. Flavor is full of chocolate malt, light roasted malt, cocoa powder, molasses, light bourbon. Flavor didn’t quite match the aroma but a very nice beer. The reigned in roasted malts were a nice touch.

Pour is a black with a small tan head. Aroma is a very nice coffee and dark chocolate malt. Flavor is a little weaker. Some dark malts, a little anise and seaweed. Much like the other beer I’ve had from this brewer, the aroma is great the flavor is so-so. Kinda watery in the end but does leave a nice roasted malt on the tounge.

50cl bottle. Poured a black coloured beer with a good formation so creamy and tan head but quickly diminishes. Aroma is toasty, strong licorice, dark coffee. Flavour has toasted malts hints, dark coffee and black chocolate, dense on palate, burnt wood traces. The final is moderate bittery and strong toasty. Carbonation is soft. Body is medium to high. Texture is oily

Bottle with what appears to be a best before of November 2012. Pours with a near black body and a small tan head. Aromas are of milk chocolate, dark currants (a bit sour), licorice, coffee and acidic roast. Nutty, earthy, fudge like. Smells very roast and a bit sour overall. Flavors are much better: milk chocolate, nutty, dark fruits. Mildly acidic, with notes of cranberries, currants and other dark fruit. Anise, salted caramel, a bit sweet. Bready, a touch of vanilla frosting. Feels a touch thin, in the body. Mild salinity. Low carbonation, medium sweet finish. Possibly a mild infection going on, but overall pretty tasty.
as it warms notes of hazelnuts and enjoyable chocolate come to the forefront. Bumped up the score a bit.
