Idjit is a potent imperial stout, black as the night and dark as sin. Loaded with roasted malts and the perfect amount of bittering hops, it is as smooth as it is powerful. A beer you can count on, any time, any where.
This beer started out as an experiment. Mikael likes to tell the story like this: One of our brewers wanted to see how strong a beer we could brew (at our old brewery in Mölndal). The result was a 16% imperial stout which according to Mikael was super gross; Too much of everything, unbalanced. An idiot beer if you will. However, after a few tries of scaling the recipe down and tweaking it a bit, getting the malt bill just right, we had made our idiot into our Idjit. And as we all know, Idjits rule!

Many thanks to Nisse666 for this bottle! Smooth and sticky. The beer is viscous, intense with a nice bitter coffee aroma. Sticky, dry with a smooth chocolate aroma, moderate bitter. The aftertaste is intense and long, moderate bitter and very round but slightly alcoholic. Nice.

330 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet. BB date 05.03.2015. ABV is 9.5%. Black colour, large beige head. Aroma of roast malts and liquorice. Roasty flavour too, plenty of liquorice, salty and hoppy finish. Nice enough, but not as complex as I hoped for.

On tap. Pours a very dark brown with red hints and full foamy head. Aromas of dry roasted malts and black coffee, right up front - pretty bold. Flavours of rich black coffee, dark nutty chocolate, dark vanilla, and more dry roasted malts. Maybe some chicory. Great stuff.

Draft glass @ Gollem. Black with a huge dark mocha head. Nose is massive but massive coffee beans, pralines, serious roast, mocha chocolate bars, thick, massive, amazing. Tastes redefines the idea of coffee & chocolate RIS, massive warming pralines, chocolate, massive coffee beans, touch espresso, pure decadence, chocolate syrup, thick rich. Wow this is good & rich, this should be getting mad love.

Pours a pitch black oil color, topped with a small but surprisingly lasting coffee cream head. Aroma is dominated by roasted coffee, not too strong but still pretty much there. Taste starts mildy sweet, dry fruity feel with coffee and roastiness. Some pretty noticeable bitterness, also in the aftertaste. Some warming alcohol also there, also slight burn. Very creamy body, Thick
