Idjit is a potent imperial stout, black as the night and dark as sin. Loaded with roasted malts and the perfect amount of bittering hops, it is as smooth as it is powerful. A beer you can count on, any time, any where.

This beer started out as an experiment. Mikael likes to tell the story like this: One of our brewers wanted to see how strong a beer we could brew (at our old brewery in Mölndal). The result was a 16% imperial stout which according to Mikael was super gross; Too much of everything, unbalanced. An idiot beer if you will. However, after a few tries of scaling the recipe down and tweaking it a bit, getting the malt bill just right, we had made our idiot into our Idjit. And as we all know, Idjits rule!

Bottle from Brewcraft at home. Dark black pour with puffy light tan head. Aroma is big big dark chocolate with lots of coffee bitterness. Good. Taste is similar - more coffee and hop bitterness, lots of booze at the end with a dark chocolate bitterness that lasts. Slightly rich palate. Really tasty. Very dark chocolate/espresso.

Bottle. Nose is rich chocolate, coffee, vanilla, brown sugar, molasses, hint of smoke and treacle. Taste is strong blackcurrant, licorice, hint of anise, vanilla, light smoke, light chocolate, sweet finish. Second taste gives more roast and chocolate and a slight vinous sherry note in the finish. Moutfeel is a little thin but slick, a lot of floaters. Its a nice beer, if too sweet but saved by the licorice and blackcurrant notes.

Bottle from Beers’n’more. A mocca bomb with sweet chocolate notes, some toffee as well. It is a bit too meaty on the tongue, but otherwise decent. Pleasant texture. A high quality sugar bomb imp stout!

Three year old bottle at home. Pours a black color with a head. Aroma of roasted malt, lots of chocolate truffles, coffee beans, oak and some alcohol. More dark chocolate in the flavor and lots of ash in the aftertaste. Has a silky and slick mouth feel, full-bodied, and a medium bitterness. Well-roasted and rich ale.
