We usually do not make compromises, but this is probably the exception. Norwegians are dead scared of dark beers. This is an attempt to show that there are gentle dark ales. As such Havre Stout is smooth and drinkable.

We think Havre Stout is good both with and in food. Try pairing it with a read meet dish, or give your vanilla icecream a small dash before serving. Recommended serving temperature 8°C/45°F.

11°P 20 IBU 4,5% ABV.

Draft at Churchkey. Poured a dark brown color with a dark, small head. Aroma had coffee notes, roasted notes. Flavor was a bit thin, but for 4.5% ABV, not bad. Dry - coffee, roasted.

0.5l bottle. Pours a deep brown body with a solid two-fingersize beige head. Nose is mostly burned malts, thin chocolate and some licorice. Body is a bit thin and light, but that's OK because this is suppose to be a light and "gentle dark ale" The carbonation is medium+. Tastes are a bit light but still some good and roasted flavors, chocolate, mild coffee with a slightly bitter hopyness lurking under the beige head. Finishes off with a solid chocolate finish and a mild lasting coffee aftertaste. Nice brew this, and so easily available :)

Black with a big dark brown head that disappears quickly. Aroma is hard roasted malt, coffee and dark chocolate. Flavor is quite sweet and light bitter. Dry and roasted bitter finish. Not as thick and smooth as it’s bigger brothers, but an excellent stout for the low ABV. 090411
