We usually do not make compromises, but this is probably the exception. Norwegians are dead scared of dark beers. This is an attempt to show that there are gentle dark ales. As such Havre Stout is smooth and drinkable.

We think Havre Stout is good both with and in food. Try pairing it with a read meet dish, or give your vanilla icecream a small dash before serving. Recommended serving temperature 8°C/45°F.

Very dark brown beer with medium beige head. Aroma is strongly roasted, some coffee and liquirice. Flavour is smoked, dry, chalk and strongly roasted that hides lot of nuancees. Quite nice and smooth to drink. A little too roasted but if you like roasted strong coffee then I can recommend this beer.

Bottle: Poured a deep black color stout with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma consists of coffee with some dry roasted malt notes. Taste is also dominated by dry coffee notes with some roasted malt. Medium body which is to be expected with some good carbonation. Easily drinkable as per description while still retaining some character.

50 cL bottle. Pours totally black and with a short lasting chocolate brown head. Aroma is roasted malt and chocolate. Flavour is light acidic to a roasted malt and chocolate flavour. Medium smooth mouthfeel from the oat but goes into an almost watery mouthfeel in the finish. Acidic roasted flavour in the finish with a light chocolate smoothness.
