Many years ago, a mysterious book was discovered by a group of friends in a Ferndale, MI basement. A translation of its contents revealed the recipe for an ancient beverage using mango juice, honey, and black pepper. What they didn’t realize was that creating the beverage had dire consequences. Bottle@Papsø - (firstly love the label artwork) light yellow pour with virtually no head. Aroma and taste of sweet malts, syrup/honey like, floral and herbal notes, slight spice in there. Nice.

Bottle. Pours a very pale golden color with no head. Has a sweetish spicy peppery honey aroma. Fruity spicy sweetish honey flavor with peppery hints. Has a sweetish fruity spicy honey finish.

50 cl bottle. Pours pale yellow with a small white head. Aroma is mild plastic and herbal honey. Sweet, light honey and mild herbal. Lingering fruity and honey finish.

Bottle 50 cl. Pours almost crystal clear - only a vague yellowish tint. No real head. Lovely exotic aroma, definitely passion fruit, pollen, spices and a vague touch of honey. Medium body, lightly sparkling, mainly dryish with a tart edge and again this wondrous palette of exotic flowers and spices. Very enticing. 220214

Pours very pale gold. Crystal clear. Smells like apples, honey, pepper and a bit of mango. Lots of pepper in the taste and more noticeable mango. Tastes more cider-ish than expected. Light on the palate. Flavor needs some warmth to really open up. Interesting but the pepper drowns out some of the fruit delicacy.

500 ml bottle. Pours a clear light copper color with a small bubbly head. A huge bouquet of pear and honey in the nose. The flavor also leans toward ripe pear, sweet mango, some odd sweetness throughout, light and easy. I really don’t get a ton of pepper. OK. Interesting. Almost a prickly pear note here.

Bottle thanks to boisebeerguy Pours out almost clear with a tint of straw no head. Nose I’d sweetness herbs and some spice. Taste is more of the herbs light honey and some tropical fruit. No were close to as good as the zombies take Manhattan.

Bottle from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. Pours the color of perry. Aroma is sort of fruit skin. Med minus body. It’s astringent, apple/honey, with some spice. Could be pepper. Certainly quite different. Getting mango now. Interesting.

Shared bottle, poured to stem glass. Looks like chardonnay. the mango and pepper flavors are very subtle; otherwise, it just tastes like a slightly sweet white wine.
