A contemporary Scottish take on an age old Russian classic style originally brewed for the Tsars. Our interpretation brings together hops from both sides of the Atlantic, amazing flavoured malts and dark sugars.
Like the original BrewDog, this beer would never bite you but would much rather give you a lick on the face. Look Out!

Soft chocolate nose with a chocolate-dominated taste, supported by roasted malt and milk smoothness. A solid hint of hops help round out the different taste levels of this sold IS.

Bottle 0,33ltr: Opaque black American-like but Scottish stout, intense bitter but got some chocolate sweetness.

Keg at Brewdog Camden. Black/dark brown colour with big frothy and creamy golden head. Aroma bit of coffee, roast malt, lots of oats. Taste, slight bitterness, roasty coffee malt, bit dark chocolate. Bitter roasty finish. Very nice.

3rd LCRBM. A fast rating, because the end of the session was near. Somewhat smoked aromas and flavors detected through the roasted malt. Good stout, although I preferred the aroma to the flavor. Bottle @ home. 29.12.09. Deep dark brown color. Raisin, dried fruit and oak in the aroma. Full bodied, low on carbon. Oaky tarry flavor. Hints of peaty smoke. Dried fruit and raisin. Fairly well balanced mix of peaty tarriness and dried fruit. Could use more carbon, though.

Smell - strong, dark chocolate roast, little tingling sensation. Foam - medium think to think, soft, constant chocolate bitterness for tongue, low if any carbonation. Taste - quite strong bitterness, witch chocolate tones and alcohol tones. Later gets a bit better. Also some sweetness, bit too much bitterness with alcohol tones for me. Will not buy again. So reducing overall score a bit.

Creamy beige head, very black body. Strong aroma of coffee and motor oil in balance, some licorice. Flavour is good greasy roasted barley with dark roasted espresso, soya sauce, sea salt. A good drinkable heavy stout.
