Single Hop NZ Pacific Jade.

Better than their other IPA (Dorstige Tijger). This one has a more distinguished hop palate. Fruity, yet also bitter, how it should be.

Pours hazy orange, small foamy head. Aroma has fruits, citrus, banana. Clearly hoppy beer, starts off easier but aftertaste is pretty long and serious. Quite heavy bitterness. Does not feel very strong in alcohol although it has a decent body.

Medium offwhite head. Clear deep yellow body. Resiny spicy aroma with honey notes, quite faint. Dry resiny honey and spice taste with grassy notes. Mid-bodied. Sharpish mouthfeel. Dryish honey and wood aftertaste with spicy grassy notes. Kind of sharp and bitter finish. It’s OK, but a bit low on flavour. (0.33l bottle from de Bierkoning, Amsterdam.)

Fles 33cl thuis. Bitter, bloemig, hoppig, drogig. Korte smaakexplosie. Bitter blijft wel hangen. (1-2014).

Bottle at home, 11th October 13. 8% version, fairly simple, yeasty IPA. Pretty basic, hides the alcohol well though, not one to revisit particularly

Tap at the Haarlem Beer Festival 2013. Poured a hazy bright orange with a frothy white head. The aroma is of dry yeast leading to a strong bitter flavour, with lots of hoppy notes and a little yeast on the smooth and refreshing palate.

Pale blond, big lumpy head. Aroma of fresh, pale malt. Flavour also has light malts. It’s hoppy with sharp fruitiness. Light body but a fresh feel.

330ml bottle. Hazy golden colour with average, frothy to creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Hoppy aroma has a herbal touch, cautious hints of grapefruit, tangerine, also a touch of garlic. Taste is minimally bitter herbal hoppy, minimally citrusy, the strange garlic note is present again - I’m note sure if this is intended.

Bottle at the ChrisO Snow Tasting, London. As ’’Hop NZ Pacific Gem’’. Poours cloudy gold with a large, white foam head. Sweet, dry pale malt nose, some hay. Light to medium sweet flavor, more hay and simple pale malts. Light bodied with average, massaging carbonation. Lightly drying on the finish with a bit of dried hay bitterness and still more lightly bready pale malts. Very simple.
