Bottle. It’s 90 plus and I just mowed the lawn... we’ll see what this does. Pours a slightly hazy very washed-out gold with a small fizzy head and lots of bubbles rising up to the surface. Aromas are fairly simple and decent. A bit of pear, a bit of green apple, some bread dough or something like that... Flavors are not quite as nice and contrast a bit with the nose. It is a little bit harsh, to be honest. Second sip goes better, but it’s not going to be a favorite. Creamy malt and light fruit with a bit of a harshness (maybe the booze?) Something just doesn’t sit perfectly right.

Another bad Magic Hat beer - surprise. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a pale yellow dcolor with a large soapy white head that faded and left a bit of lacing. The aroma was sour and tangy industrial brew with a tart and citric undertone. The flavor was sweetish and a bit yeasty with a bland industrial presence permeating. Short finish. Light body. Not good at all.

Pours pale yellow into a shaker. Bright white head with medium retention recedes to hug rim. Lemon and sourdough aromas. Soft with sweet citrus upfront turning to bread before the sour hay finish.

Not hugely crazy about this brew. Had some on tap at the Magic Hat brewery. Poured a pale yellow with a light head. Nose of weak malts and, yes, slight spice. Flavor echoes the nose. Finished a little earthy, skunky. Not bad but I’ve had much better cream ales (Genesee, Utica Club).

Growler - kind of odd for a winter seasonal, but, as I am drinking it in late spring, it’s quite appropriate for this particular moment - pours a crystal clear gold, with a soapy ring of lace - aroma of bready character, light spicy hops, and underlying notes of honey and vanilla - quite light, but it has a creamy texture in the mouth - crisp, dry, somewhat spicy hop character bookends the flavor, and in the middle, we have very mild honey, crackery malts, a bit of a floral quality - finished quite dry, with lingering hops - this is quite refreshing and tasty - very underrated.

22oz bottle-pours a thin white head with hazy yellow color. Aroma is grain. Taste is grain, sweet, secondary hops. OK carbonation.

On draught at Sunset Grill, 10/27/2005 with SuIIy. Laughable appearance. When I held this up to the light, it nearly resembled water. There was a faint tinge of light peachy-orange, but the beer was obnoxiously filtered and nearly clear in color. Head is fizzy, poorly retained and white, little to no lacing. Aroma does not promise much either. Peaches, apricots, sourdough and diacetyl. Some lightly spicy/herbal hops are barely perceptible. Yeast is quite dominant. Flavor brings forth the yeast character as well, adding some noticeable diacetyl at first, with yellow fruits and a hint of doughiness, before fading off in to a lightly sugary, mildly hopped, soft finish. The carbonation was quite low, however, and the beer had a feathery, soft, aerated texture that was actually quite pleasant and helped work against any wateriness that might have appeared as it warmed. The more I drank, the more my palate warmed up to the light butter notes, and the fruits and spices danced around a bit, providing some tame entertainment. Drinkable it was, however, and pretty flavorful for the style.

On tap at brewery, Dec. 04. Yellow fizzy beer with no head. Light malt in aroma and light malt taste with very little hops. Boring offering.

This looks like your average American Pilsner. Golden color, whte puffy head. Slight hop aroma. The flavor is slightly sweet with just a touch of hops. Light almost watery body. Nothing really great here.
